Techie Background

To give you a basic idea of how old I am…my first computer was a Commodore VIC-20 that my brother bought when I was about 10 years old.  Computers have been a big part of my life ever since.  I’m completely addicted to technology…if that’s possible.  I currently have 3 desktop PC’s in my house, along with a laptop, a netbook, and my beloved iMac.

I broke down and bought the Mac last year…I had completely fallen in love with my iPhone and figured if Macs were as slick as that thing was…well, then I had to have one.  In addition, I will adding an iPad to my collection hopefully next month (as of the time I’m writing this, of course).  I have no doubt that I’ll be impressed with that as well.

Web Design Background

I started creating web pages back when web pages were still pretty boring.  I think that was around 1995 or so.  The first page I ever created was done in Microsoft Publisher of all things, and was done for the company I worked for at the time.

Since then, I’ve done everything from corporate intranet sites, to full blown online communities…one of which I own and administrate myself.

Like many other tech enthusiasts, my skills are primarily self-taught, but I did finally decide to go back to school to fill in the gaps and formalize my education.  I should complete my Associates of IT/Visual Communication in June of this year (2010).

Other Stuff

Other than that, I am a Mom to three fabulous kids – an 18 yr old daughter, a 9 yr old daughter, and a 7 yr old son.  They and my full-time job keep me pretty busy, but I’ll always make time to do freelance web design work.
